In January 2015 we installed a set of our equipment, including the new 730 Finisher into the newly built Footwear Design Department at Northampton University. The University are further diversifying their shoe design and footwear capacity and chose Standard as their partner to assist with their continuing efforts as we shared many of the same ideas of development and innovation.
The University will be instructing students in a number of disciplines which will be familiar to every High Street Shoe Repairer, and needed cost-effective, and up-to-date repair equipment. After consultation with our MD Keith Malyon the required equipment was decided upon and put through the company production facility and installed shortly thereafter.
This machinery set-up is the latest installation we have undertaken to an education establishment. As well as other equipment to Northampton University, we have supplied kit to Huddersfield University, Leicester DeMonfort University and the London College of Fashion amongst others. These installations, along with numerous sales to orthopaedic and hospital locations of such machines as our Ortho 100 and Ortho 75 Grinders neatly dovetail with our more well-known support of the shoe repair trade.
